To use the path sweep tool you need to create 2 objects, a cross section and a path. Once you have done this, select your cross section then select the path sweep tool. Then, with the path sweep tool, select the path you have created. After the path sweep has been created you can use the + and - keys to adjust the polygon count of the object.
