Users that experience this issue are usually trying to load the MAT file (sometimes called a Pose file) instead of the Figure. Pose files alter a figure or prop that is already in the viewport. They can morph, add texture, or change the position of the figure. Consequently, if a Pose file is chosen, but have nothing selected in the viewport, Poser or DAZ Studio doesn't know which item you want to change and nothing will happen.
The figure will need to be loaded or an existing figure first before you double-click a Pose file. Pose Files themselves do not load content into the viewport. They only modify objects that you already have in the viewport.
